Port Dispatcher - Savannah - must have Port/Drayage experience

BPT, a subsidiary of Cargomatic, is seeking an experienced Port Dispatcher to join our growing team in Savannah! As a Port Dispatcher, you’ll be responsible for high-volume scheduling, dispatching, and resolving problems for our owner-operators and third-party drivers and carriers. This position requires exceptional communication skills, proactive customer service abilities, and the capacity to problem-solve in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Schedule and dispatch owner-operators and third-party drivers and carriers hauling under Cargomatic's SCAC code (high-volume).
  • Plan routes to ensure that pick-ups and deliveries are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Build strong relationships with Cargomatic's owner-operators and carriers.
  • Assess driver and vehicle capability for each requested haul.
  • Track and trace shipments.
  • Problem-solve and communicate any issues, delays, or concerns with shipments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and data entry.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to carriers and internal/external customers.
  • Navigate Cargomatic’s proprietary software to manage daily operations and loads.
  • Perform operational/administrative responsibilities as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years of Port/Drayage Dispatcher experience required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and work with urgency.
  • Strong knowledge of logistical concepts, supply chain terminology, and dispatch best practices.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to overcome objections.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

The expected salary range for this role is $25/hour - $45/hour. The actual base pay offered will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
